Some athletes hang up their jerseys and head for the commentary box. Others open a gym. Dave Candle, a former defensive end for Italy’s national football squad, traded his cleats for the camera, and in just a few short years, he’s become one of the most talked-about frontmen in adult entertainment.

“Discipline, pressure, performance—those are things I took from football and brought with me onto the set,” he explained. “I’ve always loved the challenge of being the main protagonist, the hero of the story.”
A New Kind of Team Play
Candle’s entry into adult entertainment wasn’t a solo mission. He and his partner, Cherry Candle, first made waves as amateur creators—a path becoming increasingly common in an industry where performers are leveraging creator-owned platforms to build their own brands. Their chemistry quickly caught the eye of the pros.
“My first official scene, alongside Cherry, was shot for [European company] Beate-Uhse.tv in the Alps,” Candle noted, recalling his jump to professional productions. From there, he made his debut for the acclaimed studio Little Caprice Dreams, and his career took off.
In just two years, Dave has become a go-to leading man for industry giants like Vixen Media Group, Fake Hub, SexArt, and LetsDoeIt. He’s taken on central roles in major productions, including a title role in Deeper’s Popping Off and starring as “the main attraction” in a scene for Nubiles Films.
Racking Up the Nominations
It didn’t take long for fans and the industry to notice his star power. The award nominations started rolling in, beginning in 2023 with an AVN Fan Award nod for Hottest Boy/Girl Collab with Cherry Candle. By 2024, he was back on the ballot with nominations for Favorite Male Indie Creator and Hottest Anal Creator Collab.
The momentum is only building. For the 2025 AVN Awards, he’s up for some of the biggest prizes, including Best Male Newcomer and Favorite Male Porn Star. His work on The Budapest Affair, co-starring Cherry Candle and Talia Mint, also snagged a nomination for Best International Group Sex Scene, proving his ability to shine in any lineup.
