Your Old Videos Could Vanish: Pornhub Launches New Tool to Help Creators Beat the Clock

In a move that’s sending ripples through the creator community, Pornhub has rolled out a crucial new feature designed to help models and producers protect their content from being purged. The clock is officially ticking, with a hard deadline of June 30, 2025, for all older videos to meet the platform’s current, stricter verification standards.

Pornhub is making it clear that this isn’t just a suggestion—it’s a final call. Audits are already underway, and content that doesn’t comply could be removed at any time between now and next summer.

“A Direct Response to Creator Feedback”

For years, creators have navigated the complexities of verifying every person in every scene—a vital but sometimes clunky process. Pornhub says it has been listening.

“This enhancement has been made in direct response to creator feedback. You asked us to simplify our verification tools, and now we have.”

The new system allows creators to tag already-approved Co-Performers and Collaborators directly from their Video Manager, streamlining what was once a more cumbersome task. This change is part of a much larger industry trend focusing on trust, safety, and verifiable consent, a shift that has defined the platform’s direction since its major policy overhaul a few years ago.

The platform emphasizes that this is a collaborative effort to build a safer and more transparent environment for everyone.

“To build a safer internet and stronger community, we must work together. We appreciate your understanding and being part of this effort.”

First Things First: Check Your Roster

Before you can start tagging, Pornhub advises creators to do a quick health check on their Co-Performer and Collaborator lists. In your Core Settings, you can filter by “Missing Consent” to see immediately who needs to update their paperwork or IDs. Any performers with incomplete verification will be flagged.

A flagged performer looks like this, signaling that action is needed before you can properly tag them in content:

It’s also a good time to check your collaborator requests. Remember, any requests you’ve sent will expire after 30 days, so a friendly nudge to your partners might be in order.

How to Spot and Save Your At-Risk Videos

Wondering which of your videos are on the chopping block? Your Video Manager will now display a warning triangle next to any content with missing verification. A red triangle means a performer is completely unverified, while a blue triangle indicates they are only partially verified. Both put your video at risk of removal.

Saving them is now a straightforward, five-step process:

  1. Find a video flagged as “Missing Verification” in your manager.
  2. Click the edit icon to open the video details.
  3. Navigate to the “Performers” tab.
  4. Type in the name of the approved Co-Performer or Collaborator in the video.
  5. Hit “Submit for Review.”

The platform’s content moderation team will then review the submission, which is expected to take around 72 hours.

What If a Video Was Removed by Mistake?

Pornhub acknowledges that mistakes can happen. If you find that a video with fully verified performers was removed, or if you updated the performer information after it was taken down, you’re not out of luck. The platform has an appeals process in place.

“We will help support you with timely appeals,” the company stated. Creators can reach out to [email protected], and the support team will work to validate the records and reinstate any compliant content.

The Future is Verified

This new feature isn’t just a tool; it’s a clear signal about the future of content on major platforms. The era of anonymous, unverified uploads is long gone, replaced by a creator-focused ecosystem where safety and compliance are paramount. While the June 2025 deadline may seem far away, the ongoing audits mean the time to act is now.

As one Pornhub representative put it, the goal is simple: “Our priority is to keep your compliant content active and if eligible, monetized.” For creators, that means a little bit of housekeeping today can protect their hard work for years to come.
